2026 U.S. History I- Spring-Summer/Fall
Ideal for students in grades 5-8 that have not had a traditional U.S. history course and want to have the rigor of the accredited course. This course starts in January with two options:(1) complete the course in August (Spring/Summer) or in December (Spring/Fall). Unlike other courses, all content has been created by experienced, licensed Virginia educators with 20+ years in international education.
The asynchronous course aligns with Virginia’s Standards of Learning for U.S. History I and includes access to all core course content with optional Gifted & Talented, and optional AI learning. At the end of each unit organizer and final project you will receive an email with a graded rubric and narrative comments on your child's progress and suggestions for future units. In addition, your child will have an intro activity, MLA Style lesson, and take a midpoint check-in at the end of each unit to ensure understanding. Upon completion of all units, your child will receive an end of course report, certificate of completion, and official transcript. It is ultimately up to your child’s current school or follow-on school if the credits will be conferred. We are accredited by the Middle States Association.
In addition, your child will learn valuable research skills, note-taking techniques, and skills not always taught in international schools.. Not only will your child not fall behind their peers in the United States, your child will be able to use these skills in their regular classroom.
